Bomb in a ball on my first Izakaya experience!
I’ve been eating a lot at Japanese restaurants since I decided to be a sensei of a quintessential street food I’ve loved at first taste.
Then I discovered @izakayaflame (when I was still working near Uptown Mall, BGC), which is a pub-like place. And boy, they are serving this super soft, yet crunchy ball-shaped munchy— Takoyaki!
I just love how their sauce mixed with Japanese mayo tasted and topped with lots of Katsuobushi (dried bonito flakes) and Aonori (dried green seaweed); And how they made their Dashi-flavored batter ball kind of crusted, that it actually adds more flavor once you’ve gotten the taste of the minced octopus and Tenkasu (tempura scraps).
They’ve made it more tempting since they’re offering a single order with 6-piece Takoyaki balls for only 95php, which is actually reasonable for a quick bite in a casual, ‘traditional’ Izakaya place.
PS. You might wanna try their Tonkatsu too!
My taste bud’s are satisfied, yes, but I’m giving it 8.5/10 (I’m still in-search of the most heavenly Takoyaki!)
